A day at our nursery is a vibrant tapestry of learning, play, and connection, carefully woven together to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for every child. As the day begins, children are warmly welcomed into our bright and inviting space, greeted by the smiles of our dedicated staff. The morning unfolds with a blend of structured activities and free play, carefully curated to balance exploration and learning. Children engage in age-appropriate activities that spark their curiosity and imagination, from sensory play and arts and crafts to group games and outdoor adventures.
Throughout the day, our skilled educators facilitate meaningful learning experiences that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Whether it's exploring nature in our outdoor garden, experimenting with colors and shapes in the art corner, or engaging in imaginative play in the dramatic play area, every moment is an opportunity for growth and discovery.
We place a strong emphasis on fostering positive relationships and a sense of community among our children. Through group activities, circle time discussions, and collaborative projects, children learn the value of teamwork, empathy, and respect for others. Meal times are a time for nourishment and connection, as children gather together to enjoy healthy and delicious meals prepared with care.
It's a busy time between 7:45am - 8:30am, as we welcome children to start the day. You and your child will arrive through our secure and monitored entrance, to be greeted by the friendly and familiar nursery team and your child’s very own key person. During this time, we offer a variety of healthy breakfast options to each child.
Your child will join others in their nursery area. From the baby room right through to our pre-school classroom, each area has its own distinctive look and feel, to reflect every stage of development. It will become a place your child will love, with endless resources and a variety of stimulating activities developed by our team to support their development.
Outdoor play is an essential part of the daily routine at our nursery, providing children with valuable opportunities for exploration, physical activity, and connection with nature. Our outdoor play area is thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity and stimulate the senses, with a variety of engaging and age-appropriate equipment and materials.
Mealtimes at Playhouse is a cherished moment of nourishment and community, where children come together to enjoy delicious and nutritious meals incorporating a colorful array of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
Indoor play at Playhouse incorporates Montessori principles, offering children the freedom to explore and learn at their own pace in a carefully prepared environment. Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, our indoor play spaces are thoughtfully designed to promote independence, foster curiosity, and support the natural development of each child.
For nap times, our environments are transformed in to cosy, snuggly areas where babies and children can get the sleep and rest they require for their own personal and developmental needs. Sleep is an important part of the nursery day for our babies and toddlers, so by working together with our parents, we ensure that each child’s needs are carefully considered and met.
Our snack times are well prepared and will consist of a selection of fresh fruit / vegetable sticks and dried fruits. They can support your child’s learning and development in many ways, so we endeavour to make them as varied and inviting as possible, to ensure all of our children look forward to these social times in nursery.
At the end of each day, your child’s Key Worker will tell you all about their exciting day at nursery. We want you to feel part of their day so you will be fully informed to ensure you don’t miss out on any important achievements and development milestones.
You can keep in touch with us throughout the day and follow your child’s progress via our Tapestry app.
